June 11, 2011

  • Message From Marli Foundation, Inc is proud to announce a cross-promotional and synergistic long-term alliance with .  In conjunction with our June 11th, 2011 Fishing Tourney this year, we are excited to bring our message of ovarian awareness to their thousands of members and graduates of their fishing seminars. We will be electronically linked to LLGF website so as to give all of their membership clear access to

LLGF for short, is a national organization dedicated to attracting more women to sportfishing and to promoting conservation and responsible angling through classroom training, hands-on skill practice and an optional fishing trip. LLGF also promotes networking among women anglers and emphasizes membership between novice and experienced members. Founded in 1997 by Betty Bauman of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, LLGF has over 6,000 graduates and is the largest organization in the world whose objective is to introduce women to fishing. The organization has earned rave reviews from the “Inside Edition,” CBS “The Early Show,” NBC’s “Nightly News with Tom Brokaw,” “Good Morning America,” USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, Southern Living and more. Bauman has received three national awards including Woman of the Year by the American Sportfishing Association. LLGF has two more 2011 seminars, Treasure Coast/Stuart May 20-22 and Florida Keys/Islamorada Nov. 11-13. Anyone interested in attending and learning about fishing can find info on . Others who are not taking the seminar can attend the welcome reception at either event.

MFM attended the most recent opening of an LLGF seminar at the I.T. Parker Community Center, Dania Beach, FL and distributed MFM info cards. However, our best solution long-term in reaching out to a larger number of women world-wide is via electronically through mutual website placement with women organizations, Facebook, and Twitter. This is a first for MFM, and will be one of many of these type of alliances with women organizations world wide. LLGF Manager Nicole Cairo says, “Cancer has affected so many of our members in so many different ways, we are happy to support The Message From Marli Foundation and help their organization bring their message of EARLY DETECTION of ovarian cancer to our members and other women world-wide.” Besides writing a check to MFM, LLGF will have boats of women member anglers at The First Annual Message From Marli Fishing Tourney on June 11, 2011.
